Composites
If your work or interest is composites and fibreglass, we
are the only association that focuses entirely on this business
today. It helps one keep up with technology and other changes,
and with our links to overseas composites association provides
links worldwide. An association "Code of Ethics"
protects members. |
2. Legislation Assistance
Changes to legislation can have serious effects on your work.
The composites Association keeps abreast of changes and issues
guidelines to members and holds discussions with government
officials such as OSH and ERMA on your behalf. |
3. Own Code Of Practice
Our very own “Composites Code of Practice” was
published in 1998 and is the accepted “Code” for
our industry. All members were able to provide input into
its development to ensure it was workable. Compliance with
the “Code” is the best way of meeting NZ health
and safety requirements. |
4. Two Yearly Conference
Keeping up-to-date with technology can be as easy as attending
the Association’s two-yearly major conference. Overseas
speakers tell us about new materials, technology and equipment.
There are hands on equipment and materials demonstrations
and an exhibition with ideas and information for all. |
5. Regular NZ Newsletter
A regular newsletter is published for members to keep them
abreast of what is going on in the industry in New Zealand. |

6. Industry Training
The association has led in the development of training courses
to suit our industry, working in association with the COMPETENZ. |
7. Free International
Magazine
The USA Composites Fabricators’ Association magazine
is distributed free to all our members and provides comprehensive
information on the USA industry. This magazine is worth about
$NZ100 per year. Articles from other international magazines
are regularly distributed to members in our regular newsletter. |
8. Education, Marketing,
Standards
Members can attend educational evenings to learn about materials
and techniques. Members can participate in projects to market
composites in New Zealand and support the development of accepted
standards. An example of this was the publication of a “FRP
Design Manual”. |
9. Industry Specific
Library
Members have access to the most extensive and composites
industry specific library in New Zealand. Books and other
reference material may be loaned through Industrial Research
Ltd (IRL) library in Auckland. |
10. Low Cost
The cost to members is very reasonable indeed, in view of
the comprehensive service provided by the Association. This
is a great investment for your future in our industry. |
